Diana Cavanaugh
"Reality is defined by our interpretation of experiences,
but more importantly how mutual experiences and differences in
interpretation have the power to become social convictions and
norms. I focus on bringing out the ephemeral qualities in relational
aesthetics- creating fleeting viewing periods, transformative
objects, and glimpses of changing social patterns which cause
new inter-relationships or shifts these realities."
Born in Batangas, Philippines, Diana Cavanaugh currently resides
in the state of Virginia, United States. As a sculptor, printmaker,
performance artist, designer, and gallery owner/director she is
an artist of diverse mediums. Her practice of multiple artistic
identities has led to an Artist Fellowship from the Virginia Museum
of Fine Art and an array of regional exhibitions. She is the founder
of WORN Gallery- a completely mobile gallery that consists of
collections of wall/floor/lighting structures. The gallery is
worn by a selection of artists freely traveling in groups during
opening nights. Her gallery has exhibited national artists working
in challenging miniature scales since October 2007.
