Jake Oliver-Fishman

I am a recent art foundation graduate and am going on to study fine art at Bristol in September 2008. Having taken a year off to develop my work, I am currently creating a new body of work inspired by an extended self-study trip to Asia.

2006 - You Are Here - Queens Wood, London
Annual thematic sculpture exhibition to promote the work of artists living and working in the UK. The 2006 brief was to make a piece which responded to the specific part of the woods where it would be shown.

I created an installation using six large (6'x3') acrylic mirrors which could be warped into different shapes to reflect elements of the surrounding woods. These were placed in various positions to create a semi circular shape, giving an illusion of space and light which the viewer could interact with.
